How to add AI to your store’s WhatsApp and website

This is the path from signing up on the website to the attendant switched on in the dashboard, in the order it happens. No step requires coding: you create your account, connect your channels, bring in your catalog, tell the AI how your store sells and switch the attendant on. From step 3 to step 6, you choose the order. The dashboard’s screens are in Brazilian Portuguese.

  1. Create your account and choose a plan

Under Create account, you sign up with email and password and choose a plan; sign-up takes you straight to the card page. On Personal, the card starts the 14-day free trial; on Essential and MAX, the first monthly fee is charged at sign-up.

Nothing is charged during the Personal trial, and there’s no setup fee and no long-term contract. If you’d like help setting things up, the Business plans include setup help and direct support from the Andavor team. If you leave before finishing the card, your account stays created and you finish it later from the dashboard; until then, the attendant doesn’t answer.

  2. Confirm your email and name your store

Confirm your email through the link in your inbox and write your store’s name, which is the name the attendant uses to introduce itself to customers. The store is created once your email is confirmed.

In the dashboard, from your computer’s or phone’s browser, Getting started (Primeiros passos) shows what’s missing and saves what you’ve done. Connecting WhatsApp and adding products become available once the store is created.

  3. Connect your website, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook

On a WordPress or WooCommerce website, install the Andavor plugin and authorize Andavor on your site; on another platform, paste Andavor’s line of code into the site. WhatsApp connects through Meta’s official signup or by QR code, and Instagram and Facebook by logging in with the store’s account. Channels live under Connections (Conexões), and you connect only the ones you want.

At the end of each connection, the dashboard asks whether you want to switch the attendant on now. If you still have steps 4 to 6 to do, tap Deixar para depois (Later).

    • Website: on WordPress, download the Andavor plugin and, in your WordPress admin, open Plugins › Add New Plugin › Upload Plugin, choose the file and activate it; then authorize Andavor on your site. On another platform (Shopify, Wix, Nuvemshop, Tray, Loja Integrada or a site of your own), paste Andavor’s line of code into the footer code field. Either way, Andavor checks on its own that the installation worked. On your website, the attendant answers with your real catalog and guides the customer to finish the purchase on your store’s website; there it doesn’t quote shipping, build a cart or charge.
    • Meta’s official WhatsApp, the path the dashboard recommends: you log in with your business’s Facebook account and choose the number. If it’s already on WhatsApp Business on your phone, it keeps working there.
    • WhatsApp by QR code: as with WhatsApp Web, you link the store’s phone to Andavor. On the phone itself, an 8-letter code works instead of the QR code.
    • Instagram: you log in with the store’s Instagram and tap Allow; the password stays with Instagram. The account must be professional (Business or Creator), and messages keep showing up in the Instagram app too.
    • Facebook: you log in with Facebook and pick the store’s page from the ones you manage; the password stays with Facebook. Messages keep showing up on Facebook and Messenger too.
  4. Tell the AI how your store sells

Fill in your company information, purchase details, customer questions, the products to recommend first and the instructions for how it should answer. These screens live under Andavor Agent; you write in your store’s own words and change them whenever you want. Before switching on, the dashboard asks you to say whether you give discounts by payment method.

    • Company information (Informações da empresa): the profile the attendant uses to answer, with description, address and opening hours.
    • Purchase details: how your store gets paid (payment methods and discounts), delivery, and your returns and exchanges policy.
    • Customer questions: answers to the questions you always get.
    • Products it recommends: the ones the attendant offers first when the customer doesn’t know what they want.
    • Instructions (Instruções): how you want it to answer, one short instruction per line that you switch on or off, and when it passes the conversation to your team.
  5. Teach your AI

Under Teach your AI (Ensinar sua IA), it reads your store’s website, documents and images and builds a list of what it learned. You check off what’s right; what you remove, it forgets. Nothing reaches customers before you approve it.

    • Store website: the about, delivery, returns and FAQ pages. When your site changes, you ask it to reread the pages and it shows what changed.
    • Documents: PDF, Word, spreadsheet or text, such as a price list, a catalog or your store’s rules.
    • Images: a flyer, a price table on the wall, a product photo.
  6. Switch the attendant on

Once your store is ready, switch the attendant on in each channel, at the end of the connection or under AI replies (Respostas da IA): it uses everything you filled in and starts answering. On your website, the chat only appears to visitors after you switch it on.

In Getting started, the button to switch on WhatsApp only lights up once the list of what’s missing is empty: connect WhatsApp, pay for the plan, say whether you give discounts by payment method and, if the dashboard asks, tell the attendant about your store under Company information. Before that, if you like, chat with the attendant as if you were a customer: only you see that conversation, and no real order or charge happens.

Under AI replies, you choose whether it’s on, which channels and hours it answers in, and who it never answers. When it’s off, nobody gets replies from it and conversations stay with your team.

  7. Follow conversations and take over whenever you want

Under Conversations (Conversas), tap Take over (Assumir conversa) to keep the AI silent in that conversation, and Hand back to the AI (Devolver para a IA) when you want it to return. If someone on your team replies to the customer, from the dashboard or the channel itself, the conversation passes to your team and the AI stays silent until you tap Hand back to the AI.

It doesn’t make things up: price, stock and shipping come from a lookup in the system. When it passes the conversation to your team is up to you, in the Instructions. Issues that were logged and aren’t solved yet show up under Problems (Problemas), in one place.

Questions

Do I need to switch platforms to use Andavor?

No. The website chat goes into WordPress with the plugin and into other platforms (Shopify, Wix, Nuvemshop, Tray, Loja Integrada or a site of your own) with a line of code pasted into the site; WhatsApp stays your business’s number, and on Instagram and Facebook messages keep showing up in their own apps too.

Can I start with my website, before WhatsApp?

Yes. The website chat doesn’t depend on any platform’s approval. On your website, it answers with your real catalog and guides the customer to finish the purchase on your store’s website; there it doesn’t quote shipping, build a cart or charge.

Can I switch the attendant off after turning it on?

Yes, whenever you want. When it’s off, nobody gets replies from it and conversations stay with your team. You can also take over a single conversation and hand it back later.

What does the AI do when it doesn’t know the answer?

It doesn’t make things up: price, stock and shipping come from a lookup in the system. When it passes the conversation to your team is up to you, in the Instructions.

How much does it cost to start?

Plans and what each one includes are on the Pricing page. Personal has a 14-day free trial and nothing is charged during it; Essential and MAX are charged at sign-up.
