Case study: how many orders a niche store closed with the AI

A Brazilian niche store with a high average order value sells through its website, WhatsApp and Instagram. In late August 2026, the store started closing sales with the AI on WhatsApp. In September, 194 of 431 paid orders (45.0%) were closed with the AI; from October 1 to 14, 73 of the 194 paid orders in that period (37.6%).

45.0%of September’s paid orders closed with the AI (194 of 431)
47.6%of September’s revenue (R$271,689 of R$571,275)
42%of those sales were paid outside business hours (82 of 194)

The numbers, month by month

August 2026373236.2%
September 202643119445.0%
October 1–14, 20261947337.6%

In August, sales closed with the AI on WhatsApp started at the end of the month. September was the first full month. The average order closed with the AI in September was R$1,400, above the store’s average order for the month.

In October, the share dropped

From October 1 to 14, 73 of 194 paid orders (37.6%) were closed with the AI, below September’s 45.0%. That’s 14 days, not the full month, and these numbers alone don’t say why the share dropped.

What counts as “closed with the AI”

A paid order counts as closed with the AI in two cases. All other paid orders, such as a purchase made directly on the website without a conversation, aren’t counted.

  • The order was created by the AI in the conversation or paid through the payment link it sent.
  • The order was agreed with the AI in the conversation and paid outside that link.

Closed with the AI doesn’t mean sold by the AI alone

The sale still belongs to the store: its product, its price, its brand and its team. The number says in how many orders the payment went through the link the AI sent in the conversation, or was agreed with the AI in the conversation, not how many sales the store would have lost without it.

What the store’s team still does

The AI talks with the customer, builds the order and follows the payment. It doesn’t make things up: price, stock and shipping come from a lookup in the system. The team stays in charge:

  • It takes over any WhatsApp or Instagram conversation whenever it wants, and the AI stops answering in it right away.
  • It receives the conversations the AI passes to a person. The store decides in the Instructions when that happens, and can also turn on a call to the team whenever a customer asks to talk to a person.
  • It teaches the AI, which learns from what the store teaches it: the store’s website, documents and images.
  • It handles what comes after payment: picking, shipping and the tax invoice. Andavor doesn’t issue invoices: that stays with the store and its accountant.

How we measured

  • Source: the store’s order database, read on October 15, 2026.
  • Amounts in Brazilian reais (R$), rounded to the nearest real.
  • Business hours: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Outside them: before 8 a.m., after 6 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays.
  • October’s numbers cover the 1st to the 14th.
  • It’s a single store, with no comparison group: the numbers show how many orders went through the AI, not how many the store would have sold without it. Another store may get different results.

Questions

What does “closed with the AI” mean?

It’s a paid order that was created by the AI in the conversation or paid through the payment link it sent, or that was agreed with the AI in the conversation and paid outside that link. All other paid orders, such as a purchase made directly on the website without a conversation, aren’t counted.

Did the AI make these sales on its own?

No. The sale still belongs to the store: its product, its price, its brand and its team. The number says in how many orders the payment went through the link the AI sent, or was agreed with the AI in the conversation.

Why was the share lower in October?

From October 1 to 14, 73 of 194 paid orders (37.6%) were closed with the AI, against 45.0% in September. That’s 14 days, not the full month, and this page doesn’t point to a reason that wasn’t measured.

Does the store’s team still work on customer service?

Yes. It takes over any WhatsApp or Instagram conversation whenever it wants, receives the conversations the AI passes to a person (the store decides when, in the Instructions) and teaches the AI, which learns from what the store teaches it.

Will my store get the same results?

There’s no way to promise that: it’s a single store, with no comparison group. Andavor works best for niche stores with a high average order value, a catalog you can keep in your head and customers who already ask questions by message.
